Hi i bought an HP HDX 16 1370US Laptop. I'm installing Windows 7 and i need to know which is the best activation method ? The loader made by Hazar (thank you very much!!!) or the RemoveWAT made by Hazar (Thank you again!!!).

About the loader: The loader is run everytime the system starts ? Is it some kind of virtualization or it will just run after instalation ?

    Thank you very much!

I use neither myself, I went with the SLIC BIOS mod which worked absurdly well. No tinkering with something that can get broken again down the road by Microsoft.

That said, personally I'd go with the loader route. It's basically just emulating what I've done above, just adds the data before Windows boots instead of residing in the BIOS. If Microsoft adds a detection for it, you can always uninstall it and use another. (Happened with Vista.)

The RemoveWAT method, granted a slick way to do it, would probably be the first thing Microsoft comes down on, and would be super easy to detect. Removing a subsystem can bite you on the butt down the road too if a program tries to call it. (Good example, uninstall Media Center and try doing an Aero assessment.. kabooom.)

    Hello and welcome to MDL.

The loader will run on boot every time you turn it on. It emulates the SLIC 2.1 table to allow activation of Windows 7.

RemoveWAT removes all the WAT files from the PC and some files to stop the nag screens.

Take your pick to which method you would like to use. You may also consider a Bios mod. If it has not already been modified and posted on the site you can make a request.

    Tried RemoveWAT, had lockup issues.
Then tried Hazar Loader and two weeks now without any issues.

    Hazar's was so smooth too.

Ok, dont like that much the idea of having a loader. My bios has a SLIC 2.1 table, so it should be easy to install a certificate and an OEM Key with Opa Tools right ?

The problem I'm having right know with a loader (don't know which one because it comes already on silent mode on the DVD) is that after installing windows it opens up a cmd, inserts a key, and instantly gets restarted. Windows works fine after that 1st reboot. It worked with no problems for 2 days, but after installing a lot of things, i turned off my computer. Next day i turned it on, and said windows startup was broken. It automatically fixed it but i lost all the information about my user, like programs installed, etc. The files where there on C:\ but the shortcuts on the desktop, FOLDERS WITH MY EMAILS!!!, and other configurations were not there any more.

To tell you the truth, i hate windows vista and windows 7. I hate all this technology "improvements" which actually sux. Unfortunately i need to use Photoshop CS4, Flash CS4, 3DMAX, and many other programs that will need a strong computer which won't run with windows XP like mine (HP HDX16 1370US). I can't reinstall my OS every month, like most people that uses Vista or Windows 7 does, so i need to find a real solution. I even thought of buying for first time a legit copy of windows seven, but this is my last resort.

So... with Opa tools i will be fine right ?

Hazar, after the loader is executed, it resides on memory right ? So when windows is running is still loaded into memory right ? Which problems may occur with this kind of loaders ?

Loaders are unrelated to anything in windows, They just load a SLIC table and be done with it. IF you have a slic 2.1 just install a key + cert and you're good to go.

Hazar one more thing, what tool will you recommend me to check the status of my HD and my Memory ? Because maybe something got f*cked up on this new laptop and that's why windows crashed.

I would try and get an unmodified version of windows 7 first if you have slic 2.1 in bios.

    Thank you!

    I agree with you.

I'm downloading this one: Sticky: The Official Windows 7 Repository

It is a unmodified version right ?

With Opa Tools i'm done right ?

Yes if you definitely have slic 2.1 in bios and it is not the loader adding it.

Yes, if you have a SLIC in BIOS, verify with SLIC dump toolkit and make sure no loaders are installed like urie said.

Sorry to revive a somewhat old post, but it's kind of interesting I just happened to find the place where the creator of these tools is posting. So I thought I would make an account and make a comment. I picked up removeWAT after MS decided to break my LEGIT AND LEGAL copy of W7 Pro, and then refused to do anything about it but ask me to pay for another key. Yeah right sorry mine legally KMA. Anyway so far it's worked like a charm except for one thing. Everytime I fire up something like wordpad, calculator, image preview, it pops up a nag screen that tells me This copy is not genuine. Of course had I not ran removeWAT I would not be able to hit cancel and go back to it. If I reboot, it goes away for like the first few times I fire something up then it is back again. Not sure if I have an older version or if this is unknown to hazar. If there is an updated version that solves this where might I find it? If this is an unknown issue I would be happy to help out in any way I can in identifying this issue, to help improve the software. If there is a known fix for this I'd be happy to know what it is.

    Thanks

what version are you running now? Is it still build 7100? If so then install the RTM(Build 7600) and you should be good. Also what version of removeWAT are you using? Make sure that you are using the newest one(2.25) because some of the older builds had issues with that type of stuff. If this still does not work for you then I would either go with Daz's loader or a bios mod to activate your computer.
