All drivers up to date. fairly up to date hardware. Win8 desktop mode. Nothing I do seems to make any difference. Thanks.
Have you check the error logs created on BSOD? This should be the first action if the BSOD summering!
come on, personally I would never crash dumps disable because it gives quite a lot infos what went wrong on the machine!
Win8 pro Classic shell installed All updates installed. Crash dumps enabled. Downloaded Bluescreenview. Here is the result of what it gave me for today's bsod, on pastebin. If there's a better way to transmit the info, lemme know... Thanks guys.
I don't see link either but having bsod with a regular system, some other issues must have occurred. I don't know if that classic shell crap does anything but since I use 8, I never had bsod on at least 9 machines here in my office or somewhere else I had my dirty fingers on
Did Windows 8 work properly at one time? If so, when did it start this BSOD behavior? Perhaps you installed a driver and then the BSODs started. You need to eliminate all possible causes and then add back one at a time until you locate the cause. BSOD is often caused by hardware driver issues. To fix this problem, I would start with the motherboard. Does it have the latest firmware update installed? If not, that is step 1. Next set the bios settings to default. Boot up. Still getting BSOD? If yes, format and install Windows 8 and all Microsoft updates but no drivers from motherboard manufacturer. BSOD? If yes, go to bios settings and see if there is something causing the problem than can be fixed by changing from default to something else. Go to motherboard web site and look for drivers for Windows 8. Make sure you get the proper type for 64 bit or 32 bit motherboard and don't install the wrong drivers. Now still getting BSOD? I hope this is useful. Others here may think of other things to check.
Win8 pro => realy installed from scratch and NOT used a "improved" or otherwise altered (from your OEM) Windows 8 DVD or an update? Classic shell installed => see if you get BSOD without it. Such "improvements" can scramle a Win-Install very much. All updates installed. => from original Windows Update Source? All driver directly from manufactures downloaded especialy from the mainboard or grafikcard? If you now got any BSODs you should consider faulty hardware. I would check RAMs and the main HDD (where C: resides)
