hi all.. i'm using windows 7 ultimate RTM 64 bit (ZUKONA) with WOW7.. i can't download anything through IDM (Internet Download Manager) ver. 5.17.5. but, i can download from IDM 1 time, at 4th first trial. (that was downloading office 2007 update, coz i want to slipstream my office 2007's dvd) --> so i assure u all, it has nothing to do with my firewall. i can download from mozilla firefox 3.5.1, but (i dont know how to describe it well to u all), the download progress didn't show, but at the end (when it finished), then the file is downloaded.. but, still, sometimes, the file is corrupt.. i don't know what's wrong with it.. last time i'm on windows vista ultimate 32 bit SP2 RTM, i can download with any program.. wether it's with firefox, opera, IE, or IDM. hi, your story is weird... sounds like a problem either with your network adapter's drivers either with your firewall/antivirus software. try removing kaspersky and updating your wifi's/network's driver... let us know
@Opa thx for ur suggestion, i'll try that later (it's 6.17 am here, n i'm really sleepy). but, if u say the problem is with my wifi's driver (yes, i'm connected through wifi), n then why there's no problem when i'm browsing (like right now), n chatting? n what about freerapid downlo*der? it's work! n i found out 1 thing, i think the download is running (especially with firefox n sometimes with IDM), but I CAN'T SEE the progress.. just now, i was downloading win7 act*vator (from ur thread), n IDM took it over, n succeded.. but i can't see the progress (the file is below 1MB).. n yesterday, when i was downloading office 2007 update, i was waiting for 15 minutes (the file is around 7MB --> my bandwidth 1Mbps), but then it failed (connection time out, IDM said). btw, WOW i'm using right now is WOW 7.0.0 i just realize WOW 7.0.1 is out. i dunno wether it's link with these act*vator or not.. i mean, the problem i face right now.. i'm really curious, what's wrong w'my machine here.. last time in vista 32bit RTM ultimate sp2, everyhing went fine.. (on vista, my notebook doesn't need activator/crack, since the bios already has slic 2.0) n right now, in win 7 ultimate 64 bit rtm, i'm using the same softwares like i did in vista (except of course some 64bit softwares, like java n 7-zip) just want to make sure 1 thing, Opa.. these problem is not happen in ur system, right?
okay then.. i'll try to reinstall it with win7 32 bit.. i already got all latest version activator from ur thread.. but, first thing first.. i need to go sleep now.. i'll do that when i wake up later.. btw, maybe it's funny for u, but i also want to test in win vista 64-bit.. coz, maybe, there's conflict with my softwares (not working well on 64bit windows). i'll post again whatever happen later.. thx Opa..
dont know if this will help,but i use the same downloader in windows 7 32 bit,and when i used it for the first time,got a message saying it needed to download a bunch of files in order to properly integrate to download files.i clicked yes or okay(cant remember exactly0and the files were installed and it works okay.another hint may be when you install it.or run it(could be a 64 bit incompatable issue or something)right click on the exe and select troubleshoot compatability.hope this helps,have a good one.
update.. i tried atheros driver file for win vista 64 bit.. still can't download anything with IDM, corrupt in firefox, but working with free rapid downlo*der. now, it's time to sleep, for real.. @greyaburton i passed that at first time, coz i always passed that in the past.. (i'm using warez, not legal) but, i'll try ur suggestion later.. try reinstalling IDM again.. n also, about that compatibilit method u said.. i'll try that later.. btw, just to make it clear, IDM works on ur win7 32 bit, right? (warez, or legal?) thx for ur feedback.. UPDATE (again) nope, it's still not work with "run as administrator" and "compatibility mode" but, thx for remind me to try that.. another feedback, please..
okay.. no one post something here anymore.. i just installing win 7 32bit.. but didnt have more times to install IDM.. i hope somebody else could give me more feedbacks about my problem here..
UPDATE still cannpt download anything with IDM.. any idea how to solve it? now i'm on win 7 32 bit.. only with KIS 2010, mozilla, opera, IDM, java, shockwave, n flash.. pls someone.. tell me how do i fix it??
If downloading works well from Firefox (or IE) BEFORE IDM is installed, it's pretty obviously a problem with IDM. Wait for a new version or find an alternative.
i am using version 5.17 build 5-may/27/2009.is that the one your using?if not you could try that one.good luck.
pls read my previous post.. whenever in mozilla, the file often corrupted, n after i clicked a link, the browser freeze for about 1 minute.. n when in IDM (5.17.5), mozilla freezing, IDM took the download, but finally "connection timed out". i already report that in my previous post.. same probelm with win 7 32 bit..

problem solved! the conflict happened coz of my KIS 2010 (latest version). coz when i tried turn of the firewall, sometimes i can download with IDM, i just changed it with NOD32 ESS (latest version), everything's ok now.. thx guys.. p.s.: with KIS 2010, i already did a through setting with its firewall.. but, somehow, IDM cannot communicate with internet (even though it's treated as trusted program).. dunno why.. but i saw in kaspersky forum.. there're many users complain about latest KIS 2010, which should not be released as final, coz there're still many bug in it with internet.. e.g.: delay in live-streaming on youtube, etc.
check you date and time! Check so your date and time is set correctly, my date was on 2099 and that was the main problem, now it works perfect.
uninstall KIS 2010 it doesn't work with Win7. It is not certified to run on it, nor does Kaspersky Lab recommend running it on Win7.
