Hello. I am a newbie here, last 2 days I spend reading and trying to resolve this issue that I have. I hope it can still be fixed. I have an ASUS 1000HE netbook originally came with XP. I created a new parition and loaded Windows 7 Home Premium using USB (from my Dell Upgrade DVD). Then I tried to activated with some weird tool that I guess messed up my tokens. When I realized I should have used Windows 7 Loader that is posted here, I tried to repair the tokens, but I don't think it got done right, because after I attempted to activate Win7 with ASUS certificate and key (Loader-Default mode), I waited like I am supposed to, then rebooted when done and I get a screen with Error 13: Invalid or unsupported executable format. I am attaching a text file with exactly what I am getting on the screen. I get a red window with GRUB on top offering to load Windows with SLIC Loader in various modes but they all generate same error: "chainloader /bootmgr Error 13: Invalid or unsupported executable format Press any key to continue I hope someone can tell me/guide me in a right direction what my options are. Do I need to re-install or is this an issue with BIOS that needs further attention. I was running a latest BIOS that had SLIC 2.1 so I don't know why I am having these issues? I can get to GRUB command line as well as GRUB recovery menu. Thanks A LOT in advance for any help you can provide.
You have used a bootmgr crack. You need to restore your original bootmgr. Did you by any chance use Developers activation?
How do I do that? Where can I get the original bootmgr? Does that mean I need to reload Windows7? I do have a bootable USB and can access BIOS to set the boot drive as flash and can get to installing screen. Will I lose my XP partition as a result? The tool I tried 1st to activate Windows 7 was Windows7 Toolkit 1.8 by Orbit30 (which didn't work but messed it all up, I think, because I got a black background and couldn't insert any keys). Is this what you mean by Developers activation?
I tried Repair Computer/Startup Repair option in Windows7 boot disk (flash drive) and it tell me that it fixed it (Boot Manager is corrupt, file repair successful), but the problem still persists. There is no restore points, unfortunately. Any other ways of restoring bootmgr? NEVER MIND, it did FINALLY let me get to a choosing the OS boot option and booted into the Windows 7. Still facing the Black background and not registered OS. Should I retry Windows 7 loader?
i can t boot my computer hi there. i have a problem. i have a hp pavilion dv-6 laptop and 3 days ago i installed windows 7 x64. i instaled Windows 7 ULoader 6.0.0.6 by Orbit30. after instalation i trie to rebot and i got error 13. now i can t boot from my hard or dvd.. what can i do? thee is a problem with slic or something.. can sombody tell me step by step what to do to make my laptop work again? i apreciate that. 10x
U can't start from your DVD? Boot into your bios and adjust the boot-order ( DVD before HDD ). Insert your Win7 install CD and click on "Repair Computer", open a "Command Prompt" and type "bootsect /nt60 C:". Normally this should fix the problem
Only W7 installed no other OS? Can you boot from W7 DVD when you set it to boot priority 1 at bios setup? You should..then boot with W7 DVD to recovery console. At the console type: bootsect.exe /nt60 all press enter and confirm. Remove DVD and try to boot.
no os instaled only w7 but i used Windows 7 ULoader 6.0.0.6 by Orbit30 and i think i din t set it well.. i did that thing with the bios it s priority nr 1 and still doesen t work the same error 13. i read all posts and i saw that the other guys can bot from dvd but i can t.. anyway i ll tell u more in an hour cause i don t have the laptop right now here . shortly i tell u more.. i apreciate ure help. 10x guys
Check your bios setting again then, DVD priority to 1. If you use a bootable DVD (original W7 image is bootable) !! it has to boot, because the DVD has to boot BEFORE the orbit loader for sure. W7 setup runs before error 13. Your W7 DVD is bootable isn't it? Edit: I have to go now. If you have any questions, please PM Hazar. He knows anything about loader problems. Good luck.
