    Hello Friends! :)

I want to install Windows 7 on 256 MB RAM PC.

    I found this following information,

    I wanted to ask,
77073D7801 ---> These are Even Digits Total 10
    But,
E90400000 ---> This is Odd Digits Total 9

My appeal to all the very knowledgeable people here.
When I find and replace from Notepad++. It says, "There are odd digits. The data will be truncated!"
Is this the correct HEX string or there should be another 0 in the E90400000

Your input would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Why dont you just put some more memory in the machine. I doubt it will run decent with only 256MB of ram anyways.

In India, the shipping charges will cost more than the price of RAM. :p

I am sorry to say buddy, but with a P3 and 256 MB RAM you are going to have a horrible Windows 7 experience. My old test box has a Celeron 1GHZ on a P3 slocket board going to the CPU slot on my mobo, with 512 of RAM and it runs like soggy crap, so I tossed another 512MB chip in there I had lying around, and now it only runs like crap. You may be out of luck my friend unless you get a lot more RAM... :(

    EDIT: :(

I tried to find a Starter Version but could not find it.

    Hi,

As much as I agree with everyone that Win7 on 256mb would be a pain and might not even work and that you should try to invest in at least some more memory, I'll just answer your question as I believe that would be more useful to you :)

    Considering:
    1 - we're talking about a memory address here
2 - the way numbers (even hex ones) work

I am pretty much sure that the correct number would be 0E90400000, and not E904000000.

You see, the addresses "E90400000" and "0E90400000" are the same, as zeros on the left make no difference.

    I hope this helps.

    Byte value of 77073D7801 = 1
    &
    Byte value of E90400000 = 0

    this is the main problem

if u put E90400001 in place of E90400000

then your problem may be solve.

I will request u plz expand the RAM.

if your local dealers says they dnt have RAM then I may tell you some site based or Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, bengloru or delhi, U may buy easily.

Now we know were all the slow vista complains is coming from.

I would suggest that you use Windows 95/98 or dsl for your system. You are the nightmare for windows 7, you are going to whine and whine about how slow it is and spoil it rep like what is happening to vista.

i really recommend that u run windows 95/98. DON"T use windows 7 because everyone is using it, use what is best for your system.

Some sites quote E904000000 as the right value to use. I would just try both versions of the file and see which one works.

I would recommend to add at least 128 MB of RAM, as 256 MB will not work well. Even at 384 MB you have to disable a number of services, like Windows Defender and Media sharing.

I have one older PC running Windows 7 on 384 MB and it is working quite well with Firefox and OpenOffice at the same time. With that amount of RAM you do not have to modify the installer at all. Running an anti-virus in the background could grind your system to a halt, though, so I would recommend an on-demand scanner installation only. Avira without the Guard works quite well.

    I believe it will be E904000001 =)

    Because of destination (77 07 3D 78 01) is longer than source (E9 04 00 00 0?) the "?" mark represents value from destination. So it going to be (E9 04 00 00 01). No doubt =)
