Hi With Nero Burning Rom, there is "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 redistributable" which installs is what I have to also install - Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 ATL Update KB973923 x64 8.0.50727.4053 - Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 redistributable (x64) KB2467175 - Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 ATL Update KB973924 x64 9.0.20729.4148 or just the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 ATL Update KB973924 x64 9.0.20729.4148 enough? thanks
KB2467175 is buggy, some software may not work with just this so you have to install a earlier version of vcred 2k5 for the program to work But if you dont get any "side by side" error messages you could stick with just KB2467175
I only use Nero, I can just leave the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 redistributable" that installs with Nero? not need any other Updates? or just KB2467175 (C++ 2005 SP1) enough? I thought I should at least install the KB973924 (Visual C++ 2008) I have not found the file ALT80.dll on my PC, to see the version, where is it? thank you for your help
Not sure if this is still a fix relevant to Windows 7, but under Vista etc, MSN 8.5 etc had issues regarding c++ runtimes, and often people had problems trying to install it. If you do run into such issues, the fix is to run this from the command prompt (elevated of course): Code: fsutil resource setautotreset true C:\ After a reboot the install should then succeed.
I no problems with Nero, MSN 2009, etc... it's just to know if it's necessary to install these Updates, or if it's useless if it's useless to install the C++ 2008, I do not install it thank you very much
They are separate runtimes, depending on what version of visual studio the program was compiled with is what version runtimes the program installs Its stored in \Windows\winsxs\
ok thank you for your explanation no need to install the C++ 2008 I prefer to ask, because these Updates are suggest in WU I'll just install the KB2467175 (SP1 of C++ 2005)
