can someone help me with BIOS for Toshiba Tecra r840-12e model pt42ge - I mean the BIN file for the programmer. mention that the extract from the executable from official site is only 155kb and does not work. thank you ..
usualy u make a backup.bin from broken and extract bios from download then compare and trim it in hex editor then flash works. seems the bios is the .com file heres the command it uses to flash both bios and EC (embedded controler) not sure how this one would be done but i think its special. chgbiosf.exe bio007dt.com,ec77v150.bin /f /R
the story is so. have laptop bios password, I removed the chip I read I saved bin after I downloaded exe site. I have extracted several files including BIN file and a COM from exe file.
usually to reset pwd there is a contact point under tape by memory slots. under it. looks like a copper T with a U under the T. or sometimes is J1 . 2 silver dots with a white line in between them. sometimes its xxx my best guess is u read it wrong. always read bios with different sector size 4k or 32 or 64k. (backup4k.bin backup32k.bin backup64k.bin) what programmer u have ? (hope its not some home made unreliable) i have EN25T80 cheapo from ebay with a programmer soft i found in russian satellite forum. i tried the home made programmers and 1/2 the times it had read write error (verified by comparison) if u do have a home made.. do 3 reads and compare them all to eachother.. if none match. go back to drawing board of programmer schematics. or buy a premade one.
