Hello friends...... I am new to this forum....I am very new to this activation...editing etc etc... Please help me.... I have a laptop with which i got a DELL XP PRO cd.....I also have an old Desktop which is HCL infosystems made. Now I want to use DELL cd on my desktop but it doesnt get activated. So please if sm1 can explain me the whole process of editing my bios "AWARD MODULAR BIOS v6.00pg" so that i can use my DELL cd on it. I dont have floppy drive on my desktop... Please any easy method like DMI editing. Thanking you in advance...... Please step by step process.
Look at the stickied posts at the top of this forum they are there for a reason ! It has all the info you need. If you want XP on your desktop just get a VLK cd and install it no activation, you can then make it genuine to get updates.
From what i can see there are no HCL infosystems oembios files available, so only other options are request bios mod for dell, use hp dmi cd and convert dell OEM cd, to HP.
