I have multiple folders each one contains around 1000 to 1500 files the files are not huge they are around 100 KB, all files are excel, PDF or word. I need to search inside those files for words such as a name in order to re-arrange them properly and trying to open every file to find what I am looking for is almost impossible and will take month to complete. Is there a way or even an application that I can use to do this job?

    Appreciate any help.

That looks to be able to do the job, though I have to buy the Professional version because the free lite one does not make text search inside files.

    That's a great tip.
I had no idea something like that was even built into Windows.
I would have expected it to be under something like "Search" instead of "Folder Options" but it's nice to know where they buried it.

The problem that I am facing with those file is that they were recovered from a damaged HDD, the recovery program wiped out all properties they had plus any dates and renamed them all in sequential numbers. That makes any attempt to find info through file properties impossible. The only way I can see is to find the information from within the file such as the name of the customer, the issue date or the serial number of the orders. What I am hoping to do is to classify them by customer name then by dates then rename them to recover my data again the way it was before the HDD failure, this is a three steps plan.
I will try all suggestions given by the kind gentlemen whom trying to help me and I do appreciate your time.

That is it EFA11, you have accurately simulated the situation I'm having. I'll try this and report the result to try and avoid buying an application that I'll mostly for one job only. appreciate your help very much.
