I am a novice and my friends laptop (Acer Extensa 5420) had Vista Home Premium however it completely crashed. Of course, no Windows Disk came with it and I am trying to find a CD for Vista Home Premium so I can reload it.

She has the Product Key and the Win Key (Bottom of Laptop) but that is it.

Does anybody know where I can get a copy of this???

    Hi Lizzy,

Another option is to recover the Acer to how it was when new using the hidden Factory Recovery Partition.

The only problem with that is you also get all the OEM Bloatware and trial programs etc. I prefer doing it the way Alphawaves suggested and then loading the necessary drivers etc afterwards.

However, here is how to do the factory recovery in the off chance you would prefer to do that. It explains how to do it in the user manual on page 61 which can be got from the Acer website. I can't post the link sorry as I only have 7 posts to date and I need 20 to post links.

    Cheers,

    Paul
