Hey can someone tell me how to downgrade from enterprise to starter as i have a key and it doesnt work and yes starter is in the windows 10 editionmatrix and pkeyconfig also can someone tell e how to change enterprise branding to ppipro
I honestly do not know why you would want to downgrade to Windows Starter Edition. FYI: Windows Starter Edition was made only for Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. There is no Windows 8 or Windows 10 Starter Edition. To install Windows Starter Edition (either XP, Vista or 7), you would need to do 1 of 3 things Format the drive and reinstall Windows from scratch Install your choice of OS onto a different partition or 2nd hard drive (allowing for dual-boot and as a result having more than 1 OS on your computer) Setup a virtual machine and run your choice of OS within your primary OS (assuming proper hardware requirements) @abbodi1406 is very right, you cannot "downgrade". However, if you recently upgrading to Windows 10, you may have the option to restore back to your previous version assuming you have not deleted your Windows.Old folder or Microsoft has not done so after X (unknown) many updates and X unknown time using Windows 10. You would find such a setting via your settings (located within the start menu). If my memory is correct, it would be located under Windows Updates and there if you look closely, assuming this is your 1st time upgrading, will be the option to revert back. However, you may be asked to impute your Windows Starter CD or USD drive to help in the process. If no such an option is visible, it means you can not longer revert back and you must resort to 1 of the 3 previous choices listed above.
From the looks of it, he made a homebrew OS and updated the older Starter Edition ISO to include Windows 10. He did this with a pre-release version too. You're on your own as I would not suggest this. Windows Starter is not going to benefit you anyway as it will still have all the junk from Windows 10 included. If you're seeking a lighter and faster experience, you should try Windows LTSB
@GOD666 1. Sorry to say this, but please don't speculate anything on little/no knowledge. 2. Its 'LTSB', not 'LTBS' - you're making this typo multiple times in your posts.
Can you please explain this line of thinking? I am confused and am unsure what you are talking about. Sorry, it was a small mistype that I keep making. It is just as annoying you as it is to me. I'll keep an eye out and try to be more aware of that in the future.
@Tito you were not joking. I really did make that mistype far more than what should be accepted as human error. I'm retroactively mass-editing my post now to correct that grievous error. Sorry for the inconvenience. edit: I believe I got them all, but I am unsure how long it will take for the search here to populate (it is still showing results for the post which I have already fixed). I'll double check later and see if I missed anything.
i mean i was talking to someone about it on twitter yetserday and they mentioned something about kernal policies licensing i think
I am curious now and would like to know exactly what you are talking about. In my opinion, that would be something entirely different than an actual different edition of the OS. Of course, leave it to Microsoft to push out another SKU for licensing purposes (which is all too possible). However, when reviewing Microsoft's own website and Wikipedia, as well as a quick Google search, I show up nothing concerning an official Windows 10 Starter Edition. Of course, minus a few homebrews with some very creative names, which will claim everything from Windows 10 Ultimate to Windows 10 Diamond Edition. Hint there is no such thing as Windows 10 Ultimate or Diamond, although Waze sites like to be creative when naming their homebrews. And none of which should be shared here on MDL. But if you know something new concerning another official edition, I would be very much interested in learning.
Education 16212 is simply an offline upgrade from the homebrew enterprise iso, in about 2-3 days there will be a new official IP release. But 16212 has it's own thread, maybe you can read that one?
