Hi, all! I have jus bought an HP Mediasmart EX490, very cheap ( 50 bucks. ). Downside is, there are no recovery disks, software disks with it. And no HDD's, so no OS. Although it's still in the mail, I am therefore looking for the original iso's. Can anybody help me? I've tried Google and Utorrent, but all I get are some pretty shady downloads and sites. Any help is greatly appriciated!
If they are available, I am sure someone will find some iso's for you. Until then, once it is up and running, make an image of the system ASAP.
I decided not to restore the server to WHS v1. Instead I have installed WHS 2011. It works very smoothly on this server. Installing is a piece of cacke, just format the hdd, make a usb stick bootable insert the contents of the install dvd and a cfg.ini, place it in the bottom usb port on the back, power on and push the little reset button on the front with a paperclip. And voilá, 20 minutes later it's ready to kick ass!
