Ok I am installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit for the 7th time. I am getting update errors when I try to install the windows updates. Do I need to not have my computer connected to the internet while I install windows 7? Also should I install the loader before I connect to the internet and then run windows update??? TIA!!

I have installed windows 7 while being connected online and offline. Never had a problem doing it either way. Just be sure to uncheck activate online. Set updates to manual and hide KB971033. Then install loader.

Dude when your installing there is a box or something to activate online. Uncheck that if your installing. In start button then control panel you'll find windows updates and a link called change settings then at important updates choose "check for updates but let you decide to download or install them"

Always leave internet on when installing 7 and then right after install loader or ODIN or something to activate or use IR4 to get unlimited trial use of 7

Ok thank you both. I have set windows update to manual, hid KB971033, and installed Daz's Window's 7 Loader. It shows windows as being active. I am now connect to the net and downloading the windows updates. I will let you know what happens.

Well here we go again. 23 Succeeded "Some updates were not installed" 11 failed "Code 80200053" and "Code 80070246" Windows can't update important files and services while the system is using them. Save any open files, and then restart the computer". When I restart it reverts the succeeded updates back. Whats going on here???

Fixed!! I installed the updates by month only for example: There were a handful of updates that dated 2009 and 2010 and they were not in order. So I installed all the updates for December2009 and unchecked everything else, then Jan 2010, Feb 2010 etc.... One month by one and sure enough they all installed and loaded fine. Windows is up to date!! Thank you everyone that helped out.

Why is that? You used Windows update, didn't you?

I've never had such a problem using Windows update.
