I upgraded SSD on HP Pavillion Touchsmart laptop (model: 14-n020se Ultrabook, windows 8 pre-installed ) and I am not able to reinstate os from my recovery disk, it crashes without completing. When I called HP they said the recovery will work with the same hardware and if any change on the HDD it may not work.

I thought of clean install as that is the only option left, and as explain on some threads on this forum I extracted product key using "RW-Everything" from original hdd before installing SSD. I tried to install windows from "EN_WINDOWS_8_X64_DVD_915440.ISO" and it gave following error message

'The product key entered does not match any of the Windows image available for installation'

Can some one help to fix this issue

    Thanks in advance.

Most probably you have Core Single Language.

    ;)[/QUOTE]

You need to download Core Single Language ISO. Follow my guide precisely; download proper 8.1 ISO, install using generic keys, then install your key & activate.

I tried with windows-8-single-language-en-us-x64-iso (dell) but still it says 'The product key entered does not match any of the Windows image available for installation'. Actually I haven't enter any key.

Can you please post me a link of the right ISO if I made a mistake.

    Thanks

Sorry, I mean Edition Type. Anyway, Edition ID=X18-15555 means its CoreSingleLanguage.

Do you prefer 8 or 8.1??

If I can install 8.1 with my OEM Key, that's perfect!

    @Tinto

Thanks a lot man, atlast I installed it without any issues!..
Actually at first when I call HP customer care there answer was funny... its as simple as "You can buy a new copy of windows from any stores like Walmart and this product doesnot support a different hardware than it originally comes with", mean don't think of upgrade or any improvement to the machine and it will stay as is forever... Amazing!

    cannot activate oem key

    Dear Tito
Almost same problem with me. Its HP touchsmart 15 Envy and with windows 8 reinstallation it takes the key by itself however when asking for activation , error message comes that number is blocked. Called MS they asked to contact HP and HP asked me to buy recovery media again to fix the problem. Moreover when I check my oem key online on PID checker, it says invalid. I searched other forums which said that along with number some thing in os is also important for activation of HP laptops like SLIC or AIO etc. So do you think with installation of single language 64 version, what else I have to do to get my oem number working without buying recovery media again

I took a OEM Dell x64 copy (to USB ) to my HP and installation was perfect, and Activation was instant... so I see no reason if your OEM is Genuine why it would not Activate.
All I did was install and reboot.

This I am wondering too as oem keys should not get blocked. My installation was also perfect except for that last part where it says product key doesn`t work. You need to get in touch with store or company where bought. While in windows 8.1 error message comes Error code 0xc004c003. The activation server determined the specific key has been blocked
