Hey Guys, I got an Asus WL-500w running at my home, and got another TP-Link 802.11n router yesterday and would like to connect it to the Asus one (just to extend the coverage of the network). The config like this: WL-500W LAN:192.168.1.1, WAN auto detech (which is connecting to the ADSL modem) TP-Link: LAN:192.168.2.1, WAN ip :192.168.1.1 gateway 192.168.1.1, subnetmask 255.255.255.0 I connected a LAN port of WL-500W to the WAN port of TP-Link router. It seems working fine (all computer connected to TP-Link router can access the admin page, the ping function of all admin page return without any timeout to the computer within the WL-500W network). However...other than ping, those computer in TP-Link network cannot access to the internet... Any problem i am having here? should i use a cross cable instead of a normal network cable to connect the 2 routers? thanks..and sorry for my bad english!!
Configure router A like this : it's the router with the ISP connection. LAN:192.168.1.1, WAN auto, SN:255.255.255.0 enable DHCP in a range from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.40 Router B : LAN:static IP:192.168.1.50 SN:255.255.255.255 (or 255.255.255.254) DHCP disabled (router A will handle all DHCP for both routers) WAN:192.168.111.2 with gateway 0.0.0.0 (or 192.168.111.1) -> this will stop it from sending traffic through it's WAN (don't need it on this router) WAN-type:static SN:255.255.255.0 make sure nothing is connected to this router's WAN port connect a LAN port from this router to a LAN port of router A should work like that. Let us know, dude.
