    Hey guys

    I am trying to install El Capitain in Workstation 12 but i think i dont know the complete steps to do it correctly

    So, i already have the InstallESD.dmg '15B42'

    OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 (15B42)
    File: InstallESD.dmg
    CRC-32: 9e385894
    MD4: c6e200815caf1d181a8b56d068677a93
    MD5: 3332a4e05713366343e03ee6777c3374
    SHA-1: 306a080c07e293b6765ba950bab213572704acec

    Workstation 12 + 'Unlocker 2.0.7' by Donk installed (i'm using 'W10 Ent LTSB x64')

    smc.version = "0" in .vmx file [OK]

    What i have to do now?

    Need to convert .dmg to .iso/.img ?
    Or can i select directly .dmg in VMware?

    There are some vm settings that i have to know?

    Thanks :biggrin:

    Not sure if it supports it out of the box... Probably u have to find online tutorial on how to create vmware mac compatible virtual machine or to download a ready virtual machine with osx installed....

    You'll need to convert the .app (downloaded from the App Store) to a proper ISO, it can be a bitch to get it done but it's worth it in the long run. Once you get the ISO, change the VMware Workstation 12 preferences so it's a Workstation 10 virtual machine and it'll install without issues. There is a way to get installed and keep it as a Workstation 12 VM but I've had nothing but trouble doing that myself.

    The post I linked to has full instructions but it's on another forum so I don't think I'm allowed to link directly. Mine installed in a v12 VM with no issues. You can also now easily install the Tools without any messing around with recovery consoles.
