    Hello all,

My sony Vaio VGN series laptop running both Wondows Vista and Ubuntu has crashed. I tried to recover my C: drive using recovery discs supplied by Sony for Vista OS, but unsuccessful. I always run into error

    Error: No such partiotion
    grubrescue>_

Can some one please help me with this? I am stuck with this since almost a week time.

    Thanks!
    Mike.

    Hi m8
Not an ubuntu user, but it looks like ubunto has written some sort of recovery thing to your mbr. If your sony has a built in recovery, try pressing F11 while system is booting.....if not I would use a standard vista disc and once you get to the bit where
partitions are shown.....delete em. Then create a new one, and install vista.

    Should work..good luck
