    Hi Y'll,

    Scenario:

    I have a HP AIO - with a 4GB RAM and Core i3 8th Gen with Windows 10 Home pre-loaded.

    I have a Surface Pro 4, with a Windows 10 (pre-loaded version) and it's blazing fast.

    What I don't understand is -

Both have Windows 10 but the difference is like Night and Day.

    Issues:

From boot time, to basic tasks, the HP AIO it has become a real pain. Load time of a simple Windows Explorer though is somewhere between 1.30 seconds, it is still slower to my Surface Pro. Apps take the longest to open, like for instance, the App Store takes close to 8 seconds to open on my HP AIO. And EDGE is the WORST. I've literally pulled out my MacBook Air to go on a call because the Google Hangout windows JUST WON'T LOAD!

    Possible Solutions:

I wanted to know, if a clean install of Windows 10 Pro and overwrite my Home version, will it be significantly faster?

I want an experience similar to that of my Surface Pro.

Should I split one of my disks and install a Windows 10 Pro version to just see how it is doing? Or will that be of no help/use.

    Any help, suggestion - Welcome.

    Thanks for reading.

Upgrading from Home to Pro/Enterprise doesn't make any computer faster.
The fact that these computers have different speeds, it is not strange, because they have so different processors, RAM, and so on. But the startup speeds, you provide, are completely unrealistic.
Therefore, it would be advisable to start renovation/cleaning/fixing work.
But as for Home to Pro/Enterprise, my recommendation is yes.
You do not need to reinstall it, but just insert a new activation key or use to upgrade the generic key and if upgraded ends, You must activate Windows using activation key for installed version.

The HP AIO almost certainly has a mechanical Hard drive. The Surface 4 has an SSD. That is a huge difference. Uninstalling as much of the HP bloatware as you can might help. A clean install of Windows 10, Not the HP recovery disk would be better.
