convert dmg to iso with ultraiso and burn that iso... and ye you wont be able just "run" macos on amd cpu, you need special bootloader/drivers etc etc... its complicated, even for most of intel chipsets/cpus, even more for amds.

Dual booting is one option in windows 7 but after installing vmware workstation 7 in win 7 64 bit guest, would it be a lot more easier to make a VM with Snow Leopard?? I am in the early heady days of virtualisation and why not Snow Leopard on a VM.

I need some advice. I have been trying to find the right image for my pet project. right now I have WIN 7 Ultimate on a Toshiba Satellite L655D-S5066 laptop. No issue there. The processor is Athlon II 64 bit P520. Have 4 GB ram, ATI radeon 4200 video card. Atheros ethernet card, Realtek wireless 802.11n card.

What I am trying to do is create a second partition on my HD so I can dual-boot OSX Snow Leopard. What do I use to create the dual-boot environment? Where can I get a OSX image that will run on my Toshiba Satellite L655D-S5066 laptop? Any help would be appreciated. I am determined to get this to work, and have tried several different approaches, but haven't been successful yet.

Agreed - I tried all sorts of searches etc and haven't seen anyone supporting OSX on AMD hardware. I couldn't get it to work on my core i7 hardware - it simply would not boot into the setup ! It continually hung.

My Dell monitor exploded and I bought a new 27" iMac to console myself - I only wish Apple provided a bit more flexibility in upgrading - I can install an SSD but I'm not game to disassemble the thing yet - that will come later.

As far as responsiveness goes it is a super machine. A 27 "display with 2560 X 1440 costs almost as much as this beautiful machine.

I installed Windows 7 on it easily but I mostly use OSX because I can run any Windows programs in VMWare virtual machines using "Unity" view so they run in their own window on the desktop. Might try and see if OSX can run in VMWare machines on Windows 7.
