    Hi,

I have a BIOS update file, the Award BIOS flash utilty named FLASHSPI.EXE and an autoexec.bat file containing a single command line.

How do I go about flashing the BIOS, do I need to have all of the files in the same folder on the root of the C drive or do they need to be on C: itself and do I simply type in the command

    C:\autoexec.bat

    or

    C:\foldername\autoexec.bat

    then press enter?

Can I boot the PC using a boot CD and navigate to the root of C or can I use a command prompt window from within windows 7 itself?

Any help most appreciated as I am a bit wobbly about frying the BIOS if I do it wrongly.

    Thx

Enter BIOS Setup and set to Optimized Defaults, Save and Exit.
Write down any special Settings you used before setting Optimized Defaults.

Use this Guide to make a Bootable USB Drive:

Then when it gets to the USB's C: Prompt it should auto flash (by running autoexec.bat).
Wait for it to be Complete and then reboot without the USB Drive in.

Enter BIOS Setup and change any special settings you need to.
