Hi Good Evening everyone i need help/suggestions to upgrade my windows 8.1 to 11 . here are my system details dell vostro 2520 intel i3 processor 64bit but right now i am using 32 bit windows 8.1 4gb Ram and 2.2 Ghz with these config do i successfully update to 11 or is it possible for 10 uprade. i wanna upgrade to the one whichever is possible.please guide me thank you all
just make the iso or download it from techbench use rufus that will bypass any the TPM stuff then install it as normal
As there is no 32bit Windows 11, upgrading to Windows 11 isn't possible (32bit cannot be upgraded to 64bit and vice versa). Would need to install fresh from an ISO. Directly upgrading to a 32bit Windows 10 is possible. Be sure to create the Windows 10 ISO in the same system language your Windows 8.1 is installed in, as otherwise, keeping settings and apps is unavailable.
use windows 10 education to upgrade any windows 7 or 8.1 are recommanded ( because education sku are the most universal sku to upgrade )
After updating does my license carry fowrard to w10?This is not original license .i got it with some tool few years back.i cant remember which tool i used for 8.1 Ane one more doubt.one of my friends suggested me to flash AIO PRE-ACTIVATED W10. Is this good idea?
clean install are recommanded ( backup data and format disk drive ) install windows 10 and activate with massgravel for permanant activation ( search on youtube for clean install ) if disk drive are original change with news ssd are recommanded to boost computer performance
Fresh install, even in rare cases when it makes sense, does not imply a format. We are not in the win95 days anymore. Fresh install w/o a format just moves your old windows/programs/and userprofiles in the \windows.old directory. So no need to format, no need to backup data, just do a fresh install and then move the data back in place. With a tool like forensit you can even re-import your old user profile, having back all your setting instantly. And it works even if you moved from x86 to AMD64 (or viceversa)
@srinivasmv419, First of all. Please my advised.. I looked your Laptop model already right off the google.. You need do some task work.. 1.) get your Dell Tag Services # (usually on your bios setup, Write down Services Tag #) then go to Dell Website download all drivers as need on 64bits.. 2.) Backup all your data on your external drive if is Needs. 3.) Create Bootable Flash drive Media creator from Windows 10 Pro 64bits (hints, check see if you can get your Product key from Windows 8.x save files or print out.) 4.) Do clean install (no internet as good starter). 5.) Install all drivers as you had download it.. 6.) Activated Windows 10.. Small factor that if your DELL laptop has TPM 1.2 or TPM 2.0 on your Bios.. (may need upgrade firmware from dell with correct Services tag, If you do wrong firmware, you brick the laptop!!) The word that Windows 11 Hardware support my not works on Windows 11. My suggest stick Windows 10.. Also, you can upgrade to 8GB ram that will help perform and think about SSD? better boot up faster. Great good luck with your project.. ATGPUD2003
@srinivasmv419 Do a favor to yourself, avoid all unneeded complications that all here are suggesting. If I'm not wrong you're not a very skilled user, so keep it simple. Just download a 32 bit version (x86) of Win 10 pro, doubleclick on it and doubleclick on setup.exe, answer the few initial questions and choose to upgrade (keep app senttings and files). Then you can get a beer, a walk, a nap, whatever... When you're back, hopefully your PC will be already UP and running, w/o any need to search for drivers reinstall anything and other unneeded waste of time. A 64bit OS is slower and is needed only if you need some things that are unavailable on 32bit like WSL, Hyper-V, deduplication and alike (but I bet You have no idea abouth what they are, like 95% of normal users) Of the above suggestion I back surely the replacement of your mechanical HDD with a new shiny (and cheap nowadays) SSD. It will change your life. But that's unrelated with the upgrade. You can keep win 8 and replace your HDD, it will change your life anyway.
