Hi, I have a Toshiba NB300 that I use for school purposes. I have Lubuntu 16.04 LTS installed on it but I have some problems with software center and the use of Flash (Yes, we use flash...) I want to ask to this forum if anyone recomends me a version of Windows 10 for put it on my Toshiba. Thank you very much in advance!
You will get reccomendations for all versions You have 1150+ posts overhere and now you have to ask this?
This is a secondary PC and don't use it a lot. That's why I'm asking for it. With my Dell or with my HP I don't have any doubts but this is an exception :/
I don't think there's a Toshiba-specific version. I recommend you just buy the regular Windows 10 release.
I know, I know but I'm asking which version of Windows 10 is the best for my PC (I know that this PC is very limited) Windows 10 Pro,Home,Education or LTSB
But I'm aqsking about the apps that come installed with the OS. Look, forgive it. I'll search for my own
What does LTSB have to do with the amount of RAM? LTSB is Enterprise without apps and longterm servicing, nothing more.
Your biggest concern should be to make sure you install an x86 version of whichever flavor you choose. x64 will run slower with so little ram.
indeed so, he has an Atom CPU and 32bit can allocate 2gb max and that's the maximum he can upgrade to *apologies mistakenly double posted
If you are at school supposedly you are there to learn. Refusing to read a couple of tutorial on how to install a simple flash player is not a way to learn. Start using synaptic or apt-get not the dumbed software market and eventually look for a decent Linux distro like Manjaro XFCE. Not W10
My advice = Download what ever windows 10 you want to install x86 has to be the right choice in your case and the run MSMG toolkit on it and remove everything u don't need
I'm pretty sure you can install flash (in a terminal) with "sudo apt install flashplugin-installer" if you are using firefox and "sudo apt install pepperflashplugin-nonfree" (both without quotes) if for some reason you are using chromium. I say this because it may be better to keep Lubuntu to be honest, but if you really want Windows 10, I guess you can get Enterprise LTSB or strip as much as you can with the multitude of guides available here and on the internet using Windows 10 Home or Pro.
Wipe the drive and install Linux Mint 17.3. That's my recommendation. If your CPU won't support Flash Player, uninstall flashpl and install gnash.
It supports Flash but I have some problems setting up Lubuntu sometimes. I'll take note of that. Thanks!
LM 17.x is based on Ubuntu 14 so if you have problems with Lubuntu you may have problems with LM17. If you do, that's a clue; try it and see.
