Hello guys, I would need your help regarding AFUWIN 2.21 utility. I used it a couple of months ago to flash modded BIOS to my Sony notebook and everything went well. I cannot post pictures due to my postcount but the evidence can be seen in the last post of mine.

A friend of mine (who owns the very same computer) wanted to flash his BIOS today (in order to activate W7 through SLIC), so I tried to do it the same way as I did with mine. But AFUWIN now says "unable to load driver". I tried to make a backup of current BIOS, but the result was the same. So I tried to run the utility on my computer (current BIOS backup) and the result was again the same - unable to load driver.

Does anyone of you guys have any idea about whats wrong? Im getting desperate. Thanks in advance.

Or is there any other alternative to flash AMI Aptio BIOS?

missing other files like .sys or.dll for x64 bit ?

click the start thingy. type folder . no wclick folder options.. go to View tab.. check SHOW HIDDEN FILES and Operating system protected.

now u can see if its missing the files

    Thank you for answers.

I always run afuwin as admin. I will try AFUDOS. What parameters should I use with afudos? I wanted to use /P /N /E with afuwin, are those the same?

What files are you talking about? I thought afuwin.exe was self-contained.

One of the notebooks is x86 (mine) and the other is x64 (friend's), but the afuwin I have didnt work on either.

I just tried to backup BIOS on my computer with AFUDOS 2.36 and it got stuck after the initial message (AFUDOS version etc.). You say I have to use some other version of AFUDOS?

Thanks a lot, the aptio version seems to work (I dont have friend's PC right now but I can backup current BIOS on mine).

I know, I was running AFUDOS from DOS (I made bootable flash with DOS). Its definitely APTIO.
