I happen to have the same notebook and I have a question about the marker tool
will I be able to use my recovery disks to go back to win 8 at a later time after applying the changes through the marker tool to get the SLIC 2.1 for win 7
or will i get a message similar to user jayma http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/9055-SLP-Marker-File-Update-Utility?p=664746&viewfull=1#post664746
which says that he could not recover the system with the recovery disks getting this message
"The system recovery discs do not support this computer. You are not able to restore this system with these discs."?
    any info appreciated

As UUID and PCID isn't changed, afaik your recovery discs should work.

Btw, why don't you ditch those discs & start from fresh using 8.1 & create your own recovery??

    ;)

Thanks for the info Tito, I'll wait for win8 to mature a bit more and then I might re-install them :)
