    Hello all,
I need help with a HP Pavilon A6600F. I have successfully mod'd around 5 or so before over the past few years, but I can't quite figure this one out. Below is from a previous post where someone already mod'd it, but the file has been deleted.

    ------------------
Next time, please, post the request to the proper thread !!!

    Manufacturer: HP Compaq A6500F
    Model: Napa-GL8E
    Bios Type: Award
    Bios version: 5.27 (sp44647)
    Bios Download Link: /softwar...-1/sp44647.exe[/url]

    SLIC: HP 2.1
    SLP: HP
    Cert: HP
Modded with AWARD SLIC Mod 1.52
    Mod method: ISA

    Modified Bios:
    HP Compaq A6500F-(Napa-GL8E)_5.27-(sp44647)_HP21_ISA.zip (Certificate included)
    [.net/16042821
Flash from DOS with manufacturer recommended Flash Utility.
    Please post results.
    ----------------------------------

So, since it was deleted, I thought I could do it myself. The problem is that the manufacturer download is an exe and if you run it, it just tries to update your bios. I found out I could extract it with 7-zip, but then none of the files look like ones I can mod... or at least don't know how. There is a .27 file in the exe and I wonder if that is the actual bios???

Anyway, if someone has this bios or could at least point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please note I had to remove links because I don't have enough posts.

    Thanks!
    dd

*.27 file is the bios. Mod it and flash it using AWDFLASH.

    Thanks Tito and LatinMcG!

LatinMcG - I will try your bios mod to save me some time. Anything else I need to know? What slic was used and what slp key to use? I still have slic 2.1's and keys somewhere on my NAS, but if I remember correctly, I have to use what you used to mod the bios?

    Thanks!
