Hi Kindly help me to reset my dell xps L401X BIOS password. As I gave my laptop to my little cousin to play games by mistake she has entered BIOS SETUP and locked my laptop. Contact Dell. Every Dell laptop has an assigned, unique backdoor password. All you have to do is provide proof that you are the owner. (That means your name and address has to match their records). Even if your machine is out of warranty, they will still assist you at no charge. Well, this was their policy years ago when I had a similar situation. I hope they haven't changed.
Thanks Mutagen for your reply. I have already contacted dell on this issue and there is no such policy as you told. Thats the reason I am on this forum to get myissue resolved. Please someone help me with password.
in 2006 they did not charge anything for pwd reset if u were owner.. recently as of 2008 they changed.
