Hi, I have an HP desktop and am doing a vista clean install using a retail disc. After formatting the drive during the install, I got a message that says:

Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all the files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error Code 0x8007045D.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

I made my vista disc from here

    Thanks!

use a different install..Maybe a retail or OEM disc...

Sounds maybe the build is not good or maybe burn at slower speeds...

Ahh, you're right. A normal dvd-r did not work, but a dvd-rw did work. Weird, the dvd-r verified after burning, the dvd-rw did not so i threw it out. Later I pulled it out of the trash and installed vista. Works fine now :)
