Hey Guys, need a little help. I own an old HP Laptop that I haven't been able to use in almost a year. Originally came loaded with Windows Vista x64... upgraded a few years back to windows 7 ultimate edition and used MTKV to activate. Laptop crashed and I haven't been able to recover it no matter what I do.

I'd like to install a fresh copy of windows 10... pro or enterprise. I don't mind the bloat ware as I hope I can manually uninstall all those later. Ultimately main concern is to be able to activate it somehow.
Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction.

I've been trying to read up on the forum and educate myself but I'm a bit clueless with all the builds and if I can even install a fresh copy and activate it...or if i need first install a copy of windows 7 again and then do an upgrade. Again I'd appreciate any help. Thanks guys.

You only have to get hands on The latest iso from microsoft and you can enter your serial at setup from windows 7 The only question is witch version of windows 7 you have an serial for ? if you have an ultimate you can download windows 10 pro iso if you have windows 7 pro you need the home edition of windows 10 :tea:

Thanks for the reply. At the moment I just started a system recovery. I think It will boot me up into windows vista again since that is what my laptop originally came with. If that is the case, can I once again re-install windows 7 and use MTKV to activate? and then from there proceed to windows 10 install like you suggested?

I would suggest install windows 7 ultimate and use Daz loader to activate then you will qualify for genuine windows 10 upgrade.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'll go ahead and install windows 7 ultimate and use Daz Loader to activate...

Can you guys point me to a link for the Windows 10 I should use? It should be pro or enterprise correct? Need x64 and don't mind the bloatware. Thanks again guys.

Thanks again for the reply. Just loaded windows 7 ultimate x64 onto laptop. Trying to figure out which Windows 10 version to download from Paul's "X" Files... Can anyone explain what the difference between these files is? Don't understand what en-gb is or N editions?

Thanks again for all your help guys. Much appreciated.

I'm guessing from what I've gathered is that EN-GB is british English... and the N editions don't have Media Player etc... installed? Am I right?
