Hello, I am wondering, if anyone can help me, moding an UEFI Bios update. Since my BIOS is 1.22, I can't update it to UEFI 2.17 . I saw this post catchtito.blogspot.com/2013/05/how-to-update-to-2x-bios-from-1x-bios.html . And tried to follow the instruction. But unfortunately, I can't find any string named DisableSecureCapsuleFlash=1 or file name isflash.bin / platform.ini that mentioned on that post. It will be a great help, if anyone can at least give me some hints. Laptop Model: Acer V5-471 Current BIOS Version: 1.22 Updated UEFI BIOS Link: global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_2.17_A_A.zip?acerid=635053962883005296&Step1=ULTRA-THIN&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%20V5-471&OS=S22&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=AAP_10
Did you mean, BIOS Backup using Phoenix Bios Mod Tool? I can't. I am not using Windows. I will see, if I can backup the bios using some Linux Tools. Btw, strange thing is, my OS itself taking the BIOS as an EFI enabled BIOS. In fact, I can login to EFI Shell and add / edit boot entries. For example, right now, I have two additional boot entries, arch_linux and steamos. But I can confirm, my BIOS version is 1.22, and according to Acer, it's not an EFI enabled BIOS. And there is no option to Turn On or Turn Off UEFI/EFI in BIOS. Is this normal?
