I used Macrium to do my yearly fresh install of a clone of my Win 7 installation. Half of the time when I boot it, it will not completely finish the start up. The display background will still open, but the files and folders will not appear... I always get it to work, by pressing all kinds of keys...once it starts it works flawlessly... As I know too little, I rather ask how to really fix this. .. Thank you---
The symptoms you're describing, where the desktop background appears but the files and folders don't, is often referred to as a "stuck" or "frozen" desktop. This can be caused by a variety of issues, including driver problems, system file corruption, or conflicts with startup programs. Since you're using Macrium to clone your installation, it's possible that the issue is related to the cloning process or the hardware configuration. To help you troubleshoot and fix the issue, can you try the following: - Check the Event Viewer logs for any errors or warnings that might indicate what's causing the problem. - Run a System File Checker (SFC) scan to ensure that all system files are intact and not corrupted. - Disable any unnecessary startup programs to see if that resolves the issue. - Try booting in Safe Mode to see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, it could indicate a driver or software issue. - Consider running a disk check (chkdsk) to ensure that the disk is healthy and not causing any issues. If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be worth trying a fresh install of Windows 7 from scratch, rather than cloning an existing installation.
