    Hi,

note: ( I put in DOT in some link to enable post)

I am trying to flash a Modified BIO for my Fujitsu T4220 with the following file downloaded from:

    Fujitsu Siemens T4220 Lifebook_1.18_Fuj21_.rar
    wwwDOTsendspace.com/file/gd1ti7

While flashing the file in Windows 7, I received the following

ERROR:cannot flash if memory managers (e.g EMM386) present

This presumably means that I need to flash the BIOS using CD or Flash Drive in DOS mode.

Below is the following file structure for the Fujitsu Siemens T4220 Lifebook_1.18_Fuj21_.rar:

    DOS File folder
    FUJITSU-FUJ-2.0-XrML Digital License

Then under DOS File folder are the following files:

    autoexec.bat
    COMMDAND
    flash.bat
    KERNEL.SYS
    MORE
    phlash
    PLATFORM
    README.bat
    readme.txt
    SRTV118.ROM
    SRTV118.ROM.BAK

I have not flashed the using CD nor USB drive. Do I just take the image of the expanded folder Fujitsu Siemens T4220 Lifebook_1.18_Fuj21_ and copy the image onto a CD disc or USB drive? Then just reboot from the CD/USB drive. If so, what would I need to type in terms of command line to flash or would the flash be done automatically during the reboot? Do I need additional files to boot and flash the BIOS?

I prefer to try flash the CD with a USB drive. I looked at both

    wwwDOTbootdisk.com

    rufusDOTakeo.ie

and still a bit confused. Do I make the USB drive bootable using the tool then put the files for Fujitsu Siemens T4220 Lifebook_1.18_Fuj21_ into the bootable drive and let it boot automatically?

Sorry I am a newbies and never done this. Thanks for your help in advance.

IF I posted in the wrong thread, please forward to correct section. Thank you.

Yep, use Rufus to create DOS bootable flash drive. Then copy the contents of the DOS folder to the root of the pen drive & boot from it.
