    I've noticed that my Win 8 machine Screen flickers and the icon for whatever game I'm playing.Does this happen on your machine?
    Any ideas what causes this behavior?
    Is there a Fix?

    assuming it is not a flickering game, something is wrong with you machine or better say graphic part :D Driver update mostly does the job but as you say you have the latest.
    Contact the manufacturer is my advise as this seems to be no W8 issue

    Error description is a bit diffuse. Is your screen flickering in desktop mode or when plaing a game?

    yes, a bit diffuse. It also can be the monitor.
    Had such behavior some times ago. Was wondering about similar issue and it turned out a bad power supply of a monitor.
