Hi, Is that a way to give last breath of life for my Dell D420 running Windows 7?

    I`ve also request to mod that bios by slic 2.1. Could someone do it for us?

    The big problems with the D4xx line of latitudes is the 1.8" hard drive. I managed to put 3gb of RAM in my old D430 and it still lagged like a bitch on startup and running disk intensive apps. I think that is why they went SSD only on the Latitude E Series replacements.

    My D420 has 1.5GB ram, with the Intel dual core U2500, runs really nice. Was excellent with XP & just as quick with W7 :)

    My Dell D420 is activated with slic2.1,and running updates also.so for no problem.:)

    Thanks, Tseng, but I've already tried that link and it says the file has been deleted. So I was hoping someone else still has a copy of it.

    Yep; SLICs are backward compatible.
