    Same problem here, liked it better over there, tried everthing but no clue.:confused:

    Exit messenger, and the re run it with compatibility set to Windows Vista.

    that did not work stopped it from running all together, had to do a restore. could not even reinstall it. the problem is this is messenger 2009 and i guess it does not sit by the clock anymore:confused:

    can be resolved by going to
    Program Files>Windows Live>Messenger>msnmsgr
    then choose proporties for msnmsgr.. change the Compatibility to vista RTM.
