Be aware if use the download links!!

I would suggest that the OP removes the 2 download links because both are suspicious! Download from the Website is ok!

But: run the program in Sandbox!! Just to be sure!!

Notepad add a .txt to the end of the file name
so you have to save it to mydocuments
then edit the name in a CMD box
and then copy it back to the etc directory

Or you could use notepad++ from sourceforge. :coffee:

lol no you don't, just enable "Show file name extensions" and edit it from the file itself, or if you Take Ownership of the hosts file, just hit "Save" after editing, and it saves it with normal notepad, no extension

Or Notepad++, job done - no need for random 3rd party programs to edit what is basically just a text file

I came across this yesterday. It appears to be a nice alternative. h>>p://hosts-file.n3t/ The page says the program is powered by MalwareBytes.
