    Hi there,

I read into this topic and learned, that because of a missing backplane, hot swapping is NOT supported/adviced by HP on their Micro Servers (Gen10) *bzzzzt*, but that it works anyway...though can kill your RAID because of the missing backplane.

I tried to look for an alternative of a HP micro server, that officially supports hotswap.
But it seems such things arent available without adding your own Internal SAS card (LSI) or a BIOS mod...which Im not looking for.

Is there any manufacturer out there selling Micro Servers with the HotSwap ability ?
    Preferable in germany. :p

Im also browsing ebay for these, but if the seller claims its hotswap compatible, google says its not the case.
I also only find older generations regarding microservers by HP (Gen8).

And as I read, hotswap works...or lets say, it may work, as its not officially adviced by HP, so it can also dramatically fail, thanks to the missing backplane.

eBay is filled with older HP microservers. Dell is mostly Desktop size already.

With a backplane and a P440 RAID Array you should be on the safe side when hotswapping.

    But yes, sh!t happens... :p
