How can I change public network to private ?

    no in Windows 8 it's either Private or Public those are the Windows 7 options that you mentioned

    did you follow all the steps from the link I post, or just the part of the link I post that ian post? tested on 8 and 8.1 here working. I guess per user, mileage varies dunno

    I believe I got mine to change to private by enabling network sharing in the network section of the Metro PC Settings. If you switch sharing on this should set your network to private.
