I have a Asus K55a. I am getting ready to sell it and am looking to erase everything but obviously the windows 8. I tried f9 and it eventually stopped and said it's missing the correct partition, and I don't believe it came with discs.

I would like a FREE way of either putting a clean install of win8 back on or just removing all the info. Of course there are no backups on here either.

    Any help? Thank You.

NVM, MRG- I tried that method by going to settings in my desktop and also f9 on startup. as i said in OP. It does start but then it gets to the point where it says starting the restore process or whatever then after a couple minutes I get an error message saying the correct partition is missing. It didn't come with discs so I am guessing maybe the restore partition is corrupt? Not sure?
Is it hidden or locked? Not really sure but it seems most of these have the built in restore.

    Run admin command prompt:
    Code:
    reagentc /boottore
    shutdown /r /t 0
Then when your system reboots into WinRE, select the appropriate renew/refresh option.
