You can disable ads in uTorrent by heading to Preferences> Advanced options> Set "offers.left_rail_offer_enabled" and "offers.sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled" as FALSE Then restart uTorrent..
magnet downloads are slow when there are no or only few seeders around with low bandwidth. If you find a magnet that is well seeded you can download at full speed at your end. It always depends on the seeding community/quality not on the utorrent tool
uTorrent gives you the option to remove all ads and opt out of everything. Hardly bloatware, more like optionware. You are given the option and ability to remove everything and its still free.

I use uSerenity, a hacked version of uTorrent 2.2.1. The newer versions are major overkill of a lot of unneeded fluff. with this I install exil ip updater. of course the best way to speed up your download speed is to forward a port in the router config.
