I downloaded an ISO image and burned it to a disc, but when I go to install Windows 8, it says a product key is needed. Please help.
Some information would help I,e,What iso file and file hashes anyway you need to edit the ISO and add ei.cfg file to sources folder. Save as ei.cfg
Link posted above has full key just search with last part of key... XXX means i hide those... As can't post keys here Retail & MSDN don't have this file but we can add that as mentioned by Urie
Oh okay, thanks for the help, got it. Why is it that the key can be posted in that thread but not this one?
Ok, not sure why other people are telling you to DELETE the ei.cfg... what you should be doing is ADDING the ei.cfg file to the Sources folder of the ISO once you have extracted it. The contents of the ei.cfg should be... [Channel] _Default [VL] 0 This allows you to install which ever version you want. It also allows you to use Cody's Microsoft Toolkit to activate the professional version with 180 day kms, or the standard version with 30 day kms (this one is a bug and shouldn't work but does).
thanks for confirming this. As these keys are said to be SETUP KEYS indicates that by using them, System will be set to Vl/KMS and can be activated by appropriate servers or "other" methods
I use the KMS Client Setup Key during install and after install I restore my activation with Advanced Tokens Manager
