Is it just a case of getting the modified bios and launching regular flash tool from bios? I have G60VX and found bios on here. I have no idea why it had no slic already in it as it came with Windows 7 hp 64 bit and a legit key and googling it shows it came with the correct key and it had a recovery partition.
Is this a hard question? I just want to know if its possible to flash within Windows(which I dont like to do) or with the flash tool within bios/from a bootable pen drive.
Please post a link of the modded bios. If its a SLIC mod, then you don't need it as your PC came with Windows 7.
In other threads, this OP has been asked to post mgadiag report after a fresh install. It is hard to tell if his PC has no slic, good slic, or invalid slic
What he didn't explain is that he flashed his bios in the past. It could have been a wrong bios flash for it or corruption happened during the flash. Either way there is no slic in the bios now. Who knows what happened but obviously it needs modding or use windows loader.
I just downloaded a bios file G60VXAS.205 from ASUS web site. It contains no slic, but can be easily modded with AndyP's AMI tool.
So none of those links has it pre done? I just want to quickly get it done so I can send it off as I just sold it to someone on the basis it has windows, I know I can use windows loader but want to mod the bios so if they need to reinstall they can just do so.
Thanks for help so far, How do I actually flash the files though i.e through the bios or windows or that MMtool(if so a few lines detailing it would be appreciated)
download and flash the modded bios with bios flash utility, reboot a time or two, run the oem query tool again to verify slic is there, activate with Daz loader ...
So you need daz loader regardless or does that just one time install the certificate? Or if I get the correct OEM details I can add a OEM folder to iso and it will just install and brand?
If he mods his bios with slic v2.1 and checks with query tool he can just use the multi oem project and it will brand and oem activate. No need then for windows loader by daz. If you decided not to mod the bios then you will need windows loader by daz in order to activate (it will install the loader).
The loader installation app will also install just the cert + serial, and not the actual loader, if the slic is already present. Yes, you can add $oem$ to iso and reinstall after bios update.
What have you tried so far? Slic is there, but cert has not yet been installed, and it is still not activated.
Just flashed bios, thats it havent tried any loaders or made a oem disc yet, so I guess if I add the oem folder to the disc and reinstall it will work now? There was a certificate file in the bios rar folder but no way to install it on its own I guess.
