I finally upgraded my motherboard to X99 and bought a superfast 400Gb Intel 750 Series SSD.

I used one of my $15 win8 pre-order upgrade codes. I then activated then upgraded to win8.1 with ease.

Now, I fully installed all updates, but now I can't get the spam to upgrade to win10 like all of my other machines.

Can I just install Win10 v240 iso? or do I need the Windows update KB to activate using my old win8 activation code?

I just don't have time to wait for the spam to enable.

    Thanks

I did bodmas method. But I found the Download Tool Now option when things went wrong. Next time I'll use Download Tool Now as it seems easier and less complicated.

Thanks for everyone's help. Things are good for now.

You can use a Windows 10, build 10240 ISO to do the upgrade. The activation will remain intact.

If you're talking a activated retail copy in the end, then you have it wrong about VL/GVLK and KMS.

Wasn't trying to point it out, just noting it so people who see it don't get the wrong impression if they look at thread for info. Thanks for reply.
