Yup was meaning HP. I checked it with some of the tools posted on this forums and it didnt display anything for SLIC 2.1? I also then try someof the certifications to activate just in case it has SLIC 2.1 but this didnt work. That's why I was asking how they are doing it? Ive tryed RW-Everything to have a look at the BIOS and couldnt see a ACPI tab as well some SLIC Dump Toolkit and a few others. Any ideas/?
The netbook didnt come with a OS installed but I installed Windows 7 Ultimate and then downloaded this latest BIOS. So the BIOS is SLIC 2.1 but doesnt have the tables. I am interested cos they are shipping upgrade disks to people. I guess they use a DMI Tool to add the SLP key to the BIOS SLIC table? Where do I get the DMI tool and the SLP key from? Any instructions on how to do this? Cheers
I think its an area that is not flashed without the "/F" ie: 0000-???? (beginning block). It contains the HP logo also and pubkey.
Is it possible to get someone to mod this BIOS for me/? HP Mini 5101? Where would I ask for this to be done?
hi, i read your post about hp mini 5101 slic2.1 problems. how did you solve it? i already update my hp mini 5101 's bios with latest one, f02. and i installed windows 7 starter (hp oem version) but i have still activation problems. i will very appreciate if you let me know the solution. thank you.
Even if not needed by me, it is considered good behavior if you say, "nevermind i got it working ... i did this, and this, and here is the moded bios, blah, bhal, blha".
Finally I solved it. All I did is that booting with dos and "hpbi103 write slp on" I checked slp enabled....with "hpbi103 read slp" wow...i'm very happy. Thanks guys~ anyway~
