How do you activate Windows Server 2003 R2?

    Interested in the theoretical activation of this product.

    A friend asked how one might go about it given that buying legitimate keys is cumbersome.

    Exactly the same as Windows XP (just using different set of OEMBIOS - server one)
    It is ALL in the stickies of Server section & XP section

    Just sit & read

    Or better still just use a VL edition then there is no activation.

    Thanks. That's the missing link: WinServer 2003 => XP re activation.

    There really is no point to this.

    Evaluation is 60 - 90 days.

    Install 2003 and whatever roles/service and upgrade to the next version. This is what labbing is about. You do not need to activate the evaluation version.

    You have wrong one.. This person using Evaluation version.. Try Windows 2008 Server works great from DAZ Loader.. :)
