My Toshiba laptop came preinstalled with XP Home. I have since then moved on to Vista and activated it through a bios mod. My question is: 1. Does flashing my bios with a modded bios erase the slp 1.0 for XP? 2. How can I check if the slp 1.0 string is still present on my bios? It is phoenix bios.
thanks 911. i have tried oembios to check my existing unmodified bios on my gigabyte ep35-ds3l and it says there are no slp strings in my bios. I don`t understand why it says that because my bios works fine with a gigabyte modified install of xp. So shouldn`t it tell me i have a gigabyte slp in my bios ? thanks
I dont know that the Gigabyte reference is built into the tool. The CRC and names are searched for, known at the time the tool was built. The GB stuff may be more recent. Just a guess.
I am using this omibios.exe on medion computer. This brings up F:Medion omibios.cat crc=06485f9d on a medion, Where to find slp number?
If it has original windows xp installed then search for a keyfinder or try using M$ ones posted in stickies, some more info would be handy i,e, for windows xp pro or home?
Both computers are xp home edition. Both medion and hp are windows xp oem home edition. What is the slp key code? Keyfinder for what? What is crc posted number?
The answers for you are in parenthesis() If you would take the time to read the stickies, you would find this info over and over again...If this is difficult for you, I apologize. Maybe this is not for you???
What is crc posted number, is it a reference number for the oembios file to use or so What is a good tool to view or edit the slp? Would that be the same as the changer tool?
For the last time read the stickies oembios.exe you already ran can view SLP 1.0, so can VLK and OEMBIOS changer... DMI Boot CD for Award-AMI-Intel BIOS (Add SLP1.0 w/o modding) can view and edit SLP1.0
