Ok my projector supports above 1024x768 but its only one of those small pico things that i watch movies on sometimes and play a few games with.

I prefer to use something below 1024x768 but Windows 8.1 will not let me for some reason and i cannot find a simple way to disable this new "feature". This was never an issue on any other windows it is just an 8.1 issue. All i want to do is use like 800 x 420 or something but the slider is locked at 1024 x 768 as the lowest (kinda s**tty heh)

ATI have not updated graphics drivers or CCC yet and i prefer not to bodge it to install but i guess this would allow me to choose below.

Looking for a simple windows solution that is not a reghack.

I would add the projector is always monitor #2 and is in extended mode i never duplicate or just use projector. My main monitor is always the main and projector is always the extended.

Screen resolutions below 1024x768 are not supported because that's the minimum for Windows Store apps and the Start screen won't work anymore etc. So that's the lowest you can get I think.

Cheers yeah just found it as you said lol. Bit of a pain in the ass though. Ooooo You know they said Mondern UI now supports 1024 x768 now as a minimum? Well bollocks! Just set projector to 700 x 480 and its loading up start menu and stuff just fine (looks a little odd though but no error or refusing) I guess they forgot to include an error or warning this is below recommended when you try.

    But yeah thanks guys.

Actually that warning exists but it only shows when you try to open a app at a resolution below 1024x768:biggrin:
