OP here, yes, I know M$ has promised me option to get to stable channel because I upgraded from legit windows 7 (key is from msdn), but I don't know where is my key stored on the Insider Preview, and I'm unsure how will M$ know I'm eligible to the stable channel.

Win 10 is not out yet, just builds people are playing with, can you go to control panel, find recovery and recover back to your previous operating system:D

Yes I'm part of the insider program and I've reserved W10. I don't know anything else.

I've installed the W7 with media provided from Microsoft, then activated with msdn Windows 7 key. That's not the question here though.

My best guess is that your serial will be connected to your microsoft account and will be re generated for windows 10 :tea:

That's exactly what i'm guessing too, I'm just wondering about the fact that W7 cannot be linked to MS account like 8.1. Maybe it's the "reserve W10" option then..

I don't think so..there are no keys associated with this free upgrade and internet is reequired so you won't get a new key or even keep the old key associated with w10 however you might be able to use your old key to reinstall 7 or 8.1.

We dunno yet, but likely it'll Upgrade any Activated 7/8 system (yes, that includes Daz Loader, as those systems are still "Activated". After erasing the old OS and possible sideloaders, MS determines if that 7/8 key is genuine.

This still applies to 7/8 users that Upgrade (not clean install the 10 TP) because MS have confirmed that people that valid 7/8 upgrades to 10 TP will be able to opt-out of the Insider program and remain activated on Final (after July 29th of course).

Of course they can, it is no different then anybody else who gets the free upgrade. They will just get it a little sooner because they are insiders.
