Duh, 1. Windows 2008R2 and Windows 7 are the same thing concerning activation, as long as you can find a key for the edition you want. 2. Same goes for Windows 2008 and Windows Vista. If the launcher for your thing that activates it complains, then it's the programmer's fault for not recognizing the above two statements. By the way, good job for using compatibility mode to overcome that limitation.
There is no such thing as a Windows "keygen". At most a Windows "keygen" merely lists leaked keys. It does NOT generate new keys. Plus many are filled with malware! I'd never touch any program claiming to be a Windows keygen.
Well, I can assert it worked as announced... Used to it activate datacenter and it worked like a charm. (Riddick91's method) Thanks
you are right, there is no keygen. but zwt called it a "keygen", this is why i called it so, too. i think it works like that => you say that the kms is your pc (the localhost). The "keygen" is running and when you start the activation process it'll intercept your enquiry and answer you. if you don't believe, just give it a try. ;-)
So it does, really clever, it simply acts as a KMS server (it just gives back OK to the client request for authentication) How difficult would be to M$ to tackle this one? I do not really know, as the client simply is activated for 180 days with a public KMS client key Just tested it on W7 x64 Enterprise sebus
I haven't tested it (i prefer SLP method) but i have some question that i would resolve: We need a little script to renew the KMS activation every 180 days We can put this "mini-server" online or the response hash key is hardware dependent? I don't know if at the end of 180 days the KMS mini-server is always working....i think that MS will change the algo... Just some notes...
Online? What for, it is your local application! Problem running it once every 180 days WHEN Windows reminds you? Unlikely that M$ would change anything without forcing an upgrade on every single business client machine! & evey single legit KMS server in that business (or the legit machines would lapse activation) sebus
Sorry, my english is not good...for "online" i want to say: it's on my local lan or share this "mini-server" that use only port 1688, using a dyndns.
But what for, run run it for YOURSELF only on YOUR PC But probably you COULD make it run on local LAN (just poin the clients to it with slmgr.vbs /skms 192.168.xx.xx) sebus
The Riddick91 method it's awasome. I have test some 2008 R2 version and all are activated without any problem. I have problems with the win7 professional, that give me an "invalid data" windows activation error. Is there any posibility to make this work with win7 ultimate or professional?
Thanks it worked ;-) I have question about this solution How long does it take Microsoft that Stop this method ? Or Microsoft can do it ?
As with all other solutions i suppose no one can give a definite answer to these questions... just wait and see
No, microsoft cannot combat this issue by itself, they can only bring out a patch that will detect your illegal key. If you use a key they don't know is illegal: no problem. If you don't update your server: no problem. And making a small script that does the slmgr.vbs -ato command for you every couple of months is quite easy, if you don't know how to do that google how to make a batch file
