I think we also need to backup registration data too, like in office 2010.

I refer to the script made by USB3 which is only good for office 2010:
    forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/21910-Backup-and-Restore-Office-2010-Activation-Settings?highlight=backup+restore+office+usb3

I think we need a script like that.

Well the tokens.dat is visible in the afore-said directory.

To get to the data.dat file, you have to turn on the options Show Hidden Files and Uncheck the Hide System files

A different path activation files on Windows 7 for Windows 8
Jump to this Almasaru Save files in red here

    PROGRAMFILES% \ Common Files \ Microsoft Shared \ OFFICE15 \ Office Setup Controller \ pkeyconfig-office.xrm-ms%
    PROGRAMDATA% \ Microsoft \ Office Software Protection Platform \tokens.dat%

Or you can use the attached file to do this automatically

Archive files contains commands backup and Restore
File backup retrieve files save the activation of your device alone
Restore to restore these files when reactivation

    Attached Files:

    You mean:

    Windows 8 -> %PROGRAMFILES%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE15\Office Setup Controller\pkeyconfig-office.xrm-ms

    Windows 7 -> %PROGRAMDATA%\Microsoft\Office Software Protection Platform\tokens.dat

    right?

I'm on Windows 8 and only can find the first one, so i suppose first one is only Win8 and second one is only Win 7...

    Any advice on restoring?

    Thanks

I have a question about activation.
I have Windows 8 Pro with Media center (x64) and Office 2013 Pro Plus (x64) both activated on my current PC.
So if I make back up of this two locations:
    C:\Windows\system32\spp\store\data.dat
    C:\Windows\system32\spp\store\tokens.dat
... and after that reinstall Windows and Office (same versions) will they activated?
    Sorry for my English:)

From what i know, this is just for Win8 activation... for Office 2013 you need to save %PROGRAMFILES%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE15\Office Setup Controller\pkeyconfig-office.xrm-ms

    C:\Windows\system32\spp\store\data.dat and
    C:\Windows\system32\spp\store\tokens.dat
    [Windows 8]

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform
    [Windows 7]

I'm using Office 2013 x64 Retail activated on Windows 8 but in the store folder I see only:
    - tokens.dat
    - Cache folder (contains cache.dat)

So, I need to backup only tokens.dat or pkeyconfig-office.xrm-ms to have full office activation backup?

    Thats blatantly false.

OPA Backup does not support 2013.
