In winaerotweaker you will see the "see how this tweak works" link (look at the right panel), so you can use it just as a guide to learn how to do it manually, the utility by itself doesn't install anything, it's just a way to set registry/policies quickly. You need to disable the anti tapering feature, instead of one click you need 3 or 4.

No it adapts itself dynamically to the underlying OS (it supports officially from w7 to win 11, but it works on vista as well, although the installer refuses to install there).
if i disable the tamper function and follow those instructions, are you sure it won't work in the new version?
I think the best you can do, if you are so worried, is just install w10 inside vmware or virtualbox and do your experiments while waiting for the new PC. We all provided plenty of solutions, you have just to choose what you like more and experiment.
